Meet the Staff of the Fred Astaire Dance Studio

Travis Manero (Owner / Manager)

Travis Manero has excelled in all areas of the Ballroom Dance Industry for the past 12 years (since he began in 1997) and has received numerous Top Teacher Awards throughout his career as a teacher and choreographer. While he has trained top students on a Regional and National level, many have developed into professional instructors and competitors, while few have even become studio owners. Travis is also an active competitor with his partner, Kristen Dobson. They are the current 9 time undefeated Fred Astaire Ohio Regional American Rhythm Champions and Fred Astaire National Finalists in the American Rhythm division. Travis has also performed around the world as a feature ballroom dancer for the Jean Ann Ryan Production Company and the Peter Grey Turhune Production Company aboard Silver Sea and Regent Seven Seas cruise lines. Travis enjoys cross training with other styles of dance and his favorite hobbies include hiking and yoga. Travis recently became certified in Yoga and is now teaching yoga at the studio.

Chelsea Cherie (Instructor)

Chelsea Cherie grew up in Dayton, Ohio where she first experienced tap, jazz and ballet at age 5. When she turned 16, Chelsea became intrigued with belly dancing and naturally absorbed the intricacies of this unique form of dance. As her talent excelled, she was invited to perform on stage with platinum artist, Pavlo, and still occasionally makes guest appearances. Chelsea’s involvement with ballroom dance at the age of 18 propelled her into her current career as a ballroom dance instructor at the Youngstown Fred Astaire Dance Studio. Her passion for teaching and competing has led her to a dynamic professional partnership with fellow instructor, Brandon Barker. They are currently undefeated Ohio Regional Fred Astaire Theater Arts Champions and Fred Astaire National Finalists.

Kelley Brandenstein
(Administrative Assistant)

Kelley Brandenstein, a Youngstown, Ohio native, fell in love with jazz dancing at the age of 12. Ever since then, her love for dance has continuously shaped her life. At 19, Kelley became a franchisee for the International Jazzercise Dance Program, a group fitness program offering a fusion of jazz dance and aerobic exercise. Her passion for dancing and teaching led to her further pursuit in the Health and Fitness field where she obtained a certification in Massage Therapy as well as Zumba and Yoga instruction. When Kelley joined the Fred Astaire team, the combination of her vibrant personality and strong organizational skills instantly contributed to the smooth operation of the studio.
