Our special $25 introductory offer for one 30-minute private lesson is a great way to get acquainted with the studio and the dances that we teach. After your introductory lesson, your instructor will assist you in creating a personalized plan that fits your lifestyle and your goals. The cost of your lessons will vary depending on the depth in which you would like to study. For your convenience, we accept a variety of payment types including Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.
We offer both individual instruction and instruction for couples.
A guest is someone who is referred to the studio by you, the student. A qualified guest is someone who is at least 18 years of age; lives within a 25 mile radius, and could benefit from taking dance lessons.
When you refer a guest to our studio it creates a friendly atmosphere for the student, and you can earn FREE lessons with each qualified guest you refer.
At the Fred Astaire Dance Studio, we provide ballroom or partner dance instruction. Our programs encompass all styles of ballroom dance (American and International), including traditional dances like the Foxtrot and the Waltz, as well as more modern dances like Swing and Salsa, just to name a few.
Check our Dance Menu for more information about individual dances.
Most people believe they have two left feet, but we believe that anyone can learn to be comfortable and have fun on the dance floor! As Fred Astaire himself said, “Some people seem to feel good dancers are born. But all the good dancers I have known are taught or trained. To me dancing has always been fun, and I enjoy every minute of it.”
Wear something comfortable that won’t inhibit movement. Of course, we recommend comfortable shoes. We suggest shoes with a leather sole for men and shoes with a heel for ladies.
There are several dance venues in the Youngstown area where you can practice your steps in a social setting. The best place to start is here at our studio- every Friday evening we have our Practice Party from 7:30pm – 9pm.
